The HR leadership team is focused on building its HR business partnering capability, and is looking for a high potential HR Lead to be responsible for the Midwestern region, based in Chicago.
This role will be responsible for HR business partnering in the Midwest area. Illinois, Minneapolis, Michigan and Wisconsin are major geographies. There are over 500 employees in this region, which is centrally managed from Chicago. This role will have responsibility for HR business partnering within the region, including the execution of all programs and activities. It is a business-facing role and heavily execution-oriented. This position will foster partnerships across the regional organization to deliver value added service to management and employees. Key areas of focus include: employee and labor relations, employee communications, recruiting, compensation, benefits, workforce planning, performance management, employee development, safety processes and employment documentation.
We are looking for an experienced HR Leader who has a good understanding of Labor and Employee Relations and a background in the Logistics industry. Some 3PL experience would be ideal. Most important is a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and partner with business and HR colleagues. Some managerial experience would be beneficial. He or she should have a solid understanding of all traditional HR tools including staffing, organization design, performance management, HR measurement and legal compliance. Some Safety and Physical Security experience would be desirable. He or she should also be familiar enough with Labor Relations to read the signals and anticipate ER issues, so that these can be pre-empted and proactively handled.
